LEE GUERIN
(May 21, 1959 - Feb 12, 2004)

Lee Guerin was an active firefighter who joined the Champlain Fire Department in the early 1990's. Lee was very involved in Fire Prevention both in our town and at our local schools. Lee was a top responder year-in and year-out. Lee's life was cut short following a tragic accident that took this great man and great firefighter from us. We miss Lee very much and we know we are better firefighters because of his presence. May God Bless Lee Guerin and look over his family.
BRUCE BARCOMB
(Aug 10, 1961 - Nov 1, 2006)
(Past Chief)

Bruce Barcomb joined the Champlain Fire Department in 1981. Progressing through the ranks, Bruce held every line officer position possible in our fire department (Lieutenant, Captain, 2nd Assistant Chief, 1st Assistant Chief). In 1986, Bruce was elected Fire Chief and held that position until 1988. Maintaining several line officer positions, Bruce became Fire Chief once again in 2003. Bruce was our Fire Chief from 2003-2006, when on November 1, 2006 he passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Bruce is loved and missed by all of us and we will never forget this great man and great leader!
"CAPTAIN" KEN LAPLANTE SR.
(Apr 1, 1930 - Jan 8, 2009)

Ken Laplante Sr. joined the Champlain FIre Department in 1946. Ken held many line officer positions in the department, including 1st Assistant Chief during the 1960's. In 1974, Ken organized an ambulance service as part of the Champlain Fire Department. Overseeing this great venture, Champlain EMS has grown to an organization with 3 ambulances and answers over 700 calls a year. Ken Laplante was a hero in his own right. Dedicting over 60 years to the Fire and EMS service, Ken lived the true meaning of the word "Volunteer" throughout his life. On January 8, 2009, Ken passed on after a courageous battle with cancer. We think about Ken everyday as he watches over us. We know that he is in Heaven driving an ambulance around and blowing a big air horn. Thank you Kenny, for all that you taught us!
ALBERT MORRELLI
(Nov 6, 2009)
(Past Chief)

Albert Morrelli joined the Champlain Fire Department in 1945. An honorary member and past chief of the department, Albert served the community for over 60 years as a firefighter. Throughout his longevity in the fire service, Albert saw the Champlain Fire Department move from it's home at Church/Main Street to it's new location on Elm Street. Albert was part of many apparatus purchases and was an instrumental part of the growth of the Champlain Fire Department for over half a century. We wish to thank Albert and his family for all of the hard work and dedication he gave to the Champlain Fire Department.
