| WILDLAND FIRE - A & A AUTO |
Tue. Apr 20th 2010
The Champlain Fire Department was called to the scene of an out of control wildland fire on Route 11 in the Town of Champlain. The scene at A & A Auto was the same scene of a structure fire back in late December of 2009. A fast spreading grass fire behind the burned out garage caught a large area of grass and brush on fire as well as some nearby vehicles being stored at the garage. The 1st arriving officials called in Mutual Aid from the Mooers Fire Department for manpower and water supply. Firefighters worked hard to contain the blaze and were able to bring the fire under control in abour a half an hour. Crews were on scene for about 2 hours doing mop-up and putting the trucks back in service.
