The Champlain Fire Department was called to a reported Structure Fire at 102 Tallman Rd in the Town of Champlain. This was a particularly difficult call to respond to due to the fact that the house belonged to one of our own firefighters. The fire is believed to have started in the basement in the Water Heater area, and the fire was contained to one room of the basement. Firefighters ventilated the basement and used generators to manage a sub-pump to pump out water from the basement that spilled over from the water heater. Crews were Assisted by the Mooers Fire Department and Clinton County Car 4. All apparatus was back in service within 2 hours.
